This Wiki is an ongoing compilation of keystone exam preparation resources developed by a number of school districts across the Commonwealth. The materials presented here are designed to explain the Keystone Exam process, while simultaneously providing a plethora of resources to better prepare students for the Exam.

Keystone Exams General Information:

The Keystone Exams are end-of-course assessments designed to determine proficiency in academic content. Beginning with the class of 2017, students must demonstrate proficiency on the Algebra I, Literature, and Biology Keystone Exams to graduate. Students will be offered multiple opportunities to take the Keystones throughout their high school careers.

Keystone Exam Design:

Each Keystone Exam is is composed of two modules (test sessions). Each module is designed to take 1-1.5 hours to complete. The exams will consist of multiple-choice questions and constructed- response, or open-ended questions. For each Keystone Exam, 60%-75% of the total score will be from multiple choice questions and 25% to 40% of the total score will be from constructed-response questions.
